California Business Services Resource Catalog

The California Workforce Investment Board’s  Green Collar Jobs Council’s  business plan states that it will “Catalog the resources available to business to create and compete in the green economy.” In addition, the council set out to demonstrate that California is the place to invest, in part because of the many public resources to bolster competitiveness. The outcome of this collaborative effort was California’s Business Services Resources Catalog, which is a list of resources including grants, tax credits, incentives, rebates, and financing resources that can assist California’s businesses to remain competitive in today’s global market.

The State Board, in collaboration with the Air Resources Board, has begun to explore and develop a relational database/web-based platform for the catalog. This web-based tool will optimize its use for all end-users by providing an easy way to search, sort, or browse for specific resources. The users will be able to query the catalog for targeted results.

In the meantime, A PDF version of the catalog can be viewed on the State Board website at: www.cwib.ca.gov. The catalog is updated every six months with the latest versions posted to the website in mid-April and mid-October.

If you have any more questions about the Catalog, please contact the State Board at (916)324-3425

An Enterprise Zone is a geographically designated area in which businesses can receive substantial state tax breaks and other benefits. Enterprise Zones were created in California to stimulate business investments and to increase job opportunities in areas oh high unemployment. The state of California has designated 39 locations as Enterprise Zones.

The City of San Diego was originally home to two different Enterprise Zones: the Metropolitan Enterprise Zone and the South Bay Enterprise Zone. In 2006, the two zones were merged and then enlarged to become the San Diego Regional Enterprise Zone. It includes portions of San Diego including Otay Mesa, San Ysidro, Downtown San Diego, as well as parts of the City of Chula Vista and National City.
