Promote your company at the State-Route 905 / La Media off Ramp

Did you know you could have your company sign at the  State-Route 905/La Media off ramp?  This is a fairly inexpensive way to promote your company to thousands of drivers and at the same time help our community look clean. Other South County locations are also available. Go to the following link for more info.

You can either hire a certified contractor or work with volunteers to clean your “stretch” of the road. Don’t miss this wonderful promotional opportunity.

Tuberculosis in the San Diego/ Tijuana Region

Once thought to be eradicated, tuberculosis (TB) is on the rise in the California border region with a growing incidence in counties beyond the border where large concentrations of foreign born populations reside.

Baja California now ranks as the Mexican State with the highest incidence of TB and Tijuana ranks as the Mexican metropolitan area with the highest incidence and prevalence of TB.   In recent years, the number of cases of multi-drug resistant TB (MDR-TB) has been found to be among the highest identified in Mexican states.  While the incidence of TB in the California-Baja California region is an issue of growing concern, important steps are being taken to promote expanded cross-border public-private-philanthropic collaborations to respond to emerging trans-boundary challenges and needs.

The Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce is committed to supporting cross-border efforts to address TB, especially at a time of growing fiscal pressures with state and local governments on both sides of the border.

How you can help, consider a U.S. tax-deductible donation to the TB Fund for the Californias at the San Diego-based International Community Foundation.  The fund supports cross-border programs focused on promoting the prevention and spread of tuberculosis (TB) in the San Diego-Baja California border region in the area of TB prevention, and testing and continuum of care.
