On December 16th, 2011, SANDAG approved the purchase of the South Bay Expressway! This purchase is expected to bring lower tolls in the near future, less congestion on Hwy 805 and 5 and better traffic management for all of South County. The purchase of the South Bay Expressway will provide increased access to the thousands of acres of industrial land ready for businesses to locate in Otay Mesa, a well as to the existing employees working in our industrial region. As soon as available, we will let you know when the first toll reduction is expected to be implemented.
