Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Position Description:
Person in charge of generating warehouse entries, load orders, shipping manifests, bills of lading and drivers check in.
Duties & Responsibilities Summary:
- Input into system the correct information to generate the merchandise entry.
- Help customers to generate load orders in case the client does not know how or cannot generate it.
- Help warehouse Supervisor or Coordinator in generating shipping manifest for merchandise.
- Generate bill of lading for chemical shipments.
- Help drivers check in when needed in order to provide appropriate customer service.
- Revise carrier documentation to assure the paper work is correctly consigned.
- Revise carrier documentation to assure no collect shipments are received without authorization.
- Answering business phone calls, in a pleasant and professional manner. Personal calls during working hours are limited to emergency situations only.
- Maintain clear communications with customers, utilize the appropriate language.
- Perform audits of load orders once they have been fulfilled to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Receive and scan incoming packages and documentation.
- Verify and match documentation information required for customs clearance processing.
Education/Experience Required:
- Customer service, data entry, warehouse experience
- Proficient in Microsoft word and excel.
- Typing speed - 40+wpm.
- Excellent verbal/written communications in both Spanish/English

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and e-mails. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to speak effectively on the telephone and properly process all incoming and outgoing calls.
Mathematical Skills
Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
- Ability to work accurately and quickly under operational deadlines
- Must be able to deal with vendors and clients in a professional manner
- Ability to understand and interpret supplier invoices, packing list, MSDS and other documents related to the shipments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good communication skills both written and oral
- English / Spanish, high level
- Excellent organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
