Accomplishments

The Otay Mesa Chamber has made it a priority to spearhead border infrastructure projects that benefit the Cali-Baja region trade and traveler community.

The Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce was the first business organization in the County to spearhead clinics with the County of San Diego and UC San Diego Health in different business settings.

The Otay Mesa Chamber successfully advocated for the development of this project and secured an initial $4.2 million in funding from the federal government for this project.

Cross Border Xpress (CBX), an unprecedented border crossing that connects a new terminal in San Diego directly into the Tijuana International Airport, opened its doors on December 9, 2015.

Considered the Otay Mesa Chamber’s signature priority project due to the Chamber’s leadership in every step of the development of this project.

Successfully spearheaded advocacy efforts to obtain $4.2 million in federal funding for the Otay Mesa Truck Route now under development.

The Otay Mesa Chamber successfully advocated and assisted MTS in developing the first transit route in Otay Mesa, Bus Route-905.

This well known trusted traveler program, precursor to Global Entry, started as a pilot program in Otay Mesa with the support and advocacy efforts of the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce.

The Otay Mesa Chamber successfully spearheaded efforts to build Otay Mesa Road, which once served as the main arterial to Otay Mesa.

Successfully spearheaded a binational effort to increase wait times at the Otay Mesa Commercial Port of Entry.
