Clean Air for All Grant – Now Accepting Applications
The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (SDAPCD) recently announced up to $20 million in funding for the 2026 Clean Air for All Grant Program. For trucking and fleet companies in the Otay Mesa area, this is a significant opportunity because your location is officially designated as an AB 617 International Border Community. This status grants you high priority for funding, with specific mandates requiring at least 70% to 80% of Community Air Protection Program (CAPP) funds to be awarded to projects benefiting disadvantaged and low-income communities like yours.
Fleet owners in Otay Mesa can receive substantial grants for upgrading to cleaner equipment, with funding levels covering up to 85% of the costs for heavy-duty truck replacements, engine repowers (Tier 4 or zero-emission), and even zero-emission charging or hydrogen fueling infrastructure. For example, replacing a Class 8 heavy-duty truck with a zero-emission model could qualify for up to $410,000. Applications are open from April 13, 2026, through May 15, 2026, and must be submitted through the SDAPCD online portal. Because funds are awarded until exhausted, it is highly recommended that eligible border-area fleets apply as early as possible to secure these "early and surplus" emission reduction incentives.
A very special thanks to SDGE’s TEAS program for sponsoring this webinar. We remind you to take advantage of their complimentary consulting service to evaluate if it makes sense for you to electrify your fleet, which also includes financial support options the State of California has to electrify fleets. The TEASservice ends this year, so take advantage of the opportunity.
