Zero Emission Truck Transition: What Needs to Happen in Mexico
This week, along with our partners, the San Diego Regional Chamber, CCE and CANACAR, we developed several action items for the Mexican government to assist in the Zero Emission transition process for heavy duty vehicles. The action items were sent to Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma since he graciously offered his assistance in elevating this important issue. You can read the letter here.
The Chamber will continue to prioritize this important issue since it has so many impacts in our community, as well as other important action items that could drastically reduce pollution, while not negatively impacting our supply chains but making them more efficient. For example, advocating for the development of a reservation system at the Otay Mesa cargo facility that would eliminate truck idling, reduce wait times for truckers and reduce safety concerns for the entire supply chain. These are the types of projects that should be prioritized.
